Anyone who owns a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015) and a Galaxy A7 (2016) would be glad to know that they would soon receive the new security update this 2017. As always, the new security patches would fix any issues you have with the last Android you have. There are two ways to avail of the patches; you can either wait till it comes to your update notification or trigger the update by yourself.

If you are the proud owner of any of the two, you need to understand that the update won’t change the version of the Android you have, it would only update the features it has. However, you should be glad know that before this month ends, you would get another update for your Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015), letting you have the Android 7.0 Nougat. Another interesting point is that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015) was released in late 2014, but it is still supported by its manufacturer even though it is already two years in the market. A year after the phone was released, Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015) made a jump to Android Lollipop then to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in the middle of 2016.

As mentioned earlier, the January Security patch update should arrive this 2017 for both units (Galaxy A5 (2015) and the Galaxy A7 (2016). However, in case, you haven’t received the update yet, you can head on to Settings menu to trigger the download process manually. Just make sure that there is an active Wifi near you, so that you can download the update.
