Samsung’s flagship S Series might already be around since the beginning of the smartphone era, but the A Series were a great addition to the Samsung Galaxy family, and they are a worthy alternative to the S Series. The A Series comes with 2 models: the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7. Basically, the Galaxy A7 is superior than the A5, and it offers richer features and better build quality than the A5. On the CPU, both Galaxy A5 and A7 are equipped with octa-core 1.9 GHz processors, whereas the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Active are equipped with octa-core 1.6 GHz, octa-core 1.6 GHz, and quad-core processors. So, in terms of CPU, the Galaxy A series are superior to the S Series.

For the RAM, the Galaxy A5 and A7 have 3 GB RAM installed, while all the Galaxy S7 models have 4 GB RAM installed. So, in terms of RAM, the Galaxy S Series have the upper hand.

For the display, the Galaxy A5 and A7 have 5.2” and 5.7” full HD AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Active have 5.1”, 5.5”, and 5.1” display respectively, with the display resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. So, clearly, in terms of display, the Galaxy S Series win the battle.

As for the internal storage, both Galaxy A Series and S Series have 32 GB internal storage.

For the camera, the Galaxy A5 and A7 have 16MP front and rear camera, while the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Active have a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. So, the camera is better on the Galaxy A series.

The battery capacity for Galaxy A5 and A7 are 3,000 mAh and 3,600 mAh, while the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and S7 Active have 3,000 mAh, 3,600 mAh, and 4,000 mAh respectively. Both series have fast charging feature to allow you to charge your battery quickly.

Design

Overall, the Galaxy A Series is designed with elegance in mind, with a metal frame and 2.5D+3D glass on the display. The S Series, on the other hand, is designed with premium feeling for the high-end user base, with a curved display design and premium design materials that are the best for Samsung smartphones. We can say that the design of the Galaxy A Series still has the bigger appeal for young people, while the S Series have more appeal toward professionals and more mature users.

The Galaxy A Series so far have been given a good makeover by Samsung, and this series is getting better each year. Though the Galaxy S Series is still waiting for the next S8 release, the Galaxy S7 models are still a better choice when compared to the A series.
